Mr. Mackey focuses his practice on emerging growth companies and corporate transactions.
Mr. Mackey graduated from Virginia Tech in 2008 with a degree in History and Political Science. In 2011, he graduated from the American University Washington College of Law, where he served on the American University International Law Review. During law school, Mr. Mackey also earned a Master’s Degree in International Affairs from the American University School of International Service and served as a senior staff member of the Journal of International Service.
Mr. Mackey served on the Board of Directors of the Blacksburg Children’s Museum (dba Wonder University: A Children’s Museum) from 2015-2019. Mr. Mackey acted as general counsel and served on the Board of Directors of The South Main Merchants Association, Inc. and general counsel to the North Blacksburg Business Association, Inc., local non-profits representing the Blacksburg small business community, until the respective organizations’ merger into Main Street Connect, Inc. in August 2020. Mr. Mackey continues actively represent Main Street Connect, Inc. in promoting the interests of business owners in the community.
He is a member of Middle Market and Small Business Committee of the American Bar Association.
