Ms. Montgomery graduated from the University of Richmond in 2013 with a degree in International Studies. In 2020, she graduated from the American University College of Law, where she served on the Legislation and Policy Brief and as Co-Academic Chair of the first-generation law-school organization, ADVANCE. While in law school, Ms. Montgomery also interned with the Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights, Peace Corps general counsel, and the Virginia Tech Foundation general counsel.

Between undergraduate and law schools, she worked in the non-profit and education sectors in Mississippi Delta and Appalachia with Teach for America, the Delta Health Alliance’s literacy project, and Beans and Rice non-profit. Ms. Montgomery currently serves on the board of the Mississippi Delta Nature and Learning Center.

Ms. Montgomery has extensive courtroom experience, specifically in criminal defense. She has handled hundreds of cases, including felonies, misdemeanors, juveniles, and traffic charges. She has represented clients in Circuit, General District, and Juvenile and Domestic Relations Courts.
